BIDISA  ACTIVITIES

 

1 Since the inception, 1955 quite a good number of research projects on various issues related to Tribal Development livelihood programme etc in general and Lodhas, a primitive tribe west Bengal are being carried out by the staff and scholars of the institute. The projects are duly sponsored by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India
 

2 I'm in the field of education the organisation is running 3 Ashram Hotels - exclusively for lodha children. In these hostel food and lodging facilities being provided to the inmates duly financed by BCW Dept, Govt. of West Bengal. It is to be mentioned our hostels are the first Ashram Hostels in West Bengal.
 

3. The organisation is publishing a bi-annual journal namely Man & Life, since last 49 years. The Journal is "covering all the branches of social science being published regularly.  A good number of books of social science are published under the heading of Sparks from Bidisa.
 

4. With the aim of revival of tribal art & culture our institute organise every year 'Nabanna Utsav” where different tribal communities are to perform their various cultural events which are decaying due to the impact of modern mass-media causing the crisis identity among the indigenous communities. 

5. Eco museum is located at our institute 
 

6.Throughout the year the students of social science, Bengali, History folk lore etc of different colleges and universities of our state even from outside state organising their field work and workshops at our institute.
